Body Strength Training

The integration of Hatha Yoga with weights compliment each other if communicated properly. Improper weight training causes stiffening of the joints and the spine which decreases the actual blood and oxygen circulation throughout the entire body, including vital organs and glands. Think about it... the heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, colon, thyroid, pancreas, pituitary.... you name it and they are all affected. Therefore a stiff, strong looking, hard body does not promote internal health and well being.

In part, my Hatha Yoga class reshapes the skeletal system while increasing the strength of each individual cell that makes up muscle fiber, ligaments (which connect bone to bone), tendons (connecting muscle to muscle to bone) to hold the skeleton in proper alignment. Just as nature intended.

So when you incorporate the weight exercise properly to the muscle tissueyou have more kinesthetic awareness to strengthen the muscle without damaging the joint’s proper range of motion. Circulation will be increased, internal health will be stimulated, and your desired muscle tone/size will be the result.
